A play about love and death, honor and duty, truth and lies, palace intrigues, and insidious treachery, the fate of the common man unwittingly involved in them, the power of the state and the power of love - all of this is Friedrich Schiller's play "Intrigue and Love". And also about music and art, the obstacles to true and sincere feelings, the trials on the way to fidelity, and many more questions, emotions, and challenges for the contemporary man. Written in 1784, "Intrigue and Love" was designated by the author as a "civil tragedy", which, according to the terminology of the time means that the ordinary people, and not meaning gods or kings, such as the heroes of classical tragedies, were added to a tragic situation. Namely, they are the heroes, whom the entire fate of audience empathized with for nearly three centuries.
