Javor Gardev

Javor Gardev is a theatre and film director. In 1997, he graduated in "Philosophy" at the Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", and in 1998 he received a master's degree in "Drama Theater Directing" in the class of Prof. Ivan Dobchev at the Higher Institute of Theatre Arts "Kr. Sarafov". He specialized and received additional qualifications at numerous forums in various institutions in Germany, France, Great Britain and the USA (1996 – 2003).

Some of the most memorable performances he has staged over the years are "Up in the Air" by Alexey Shipenko (Drama and Puppet Theater - Haskovo), "The Tempest" by William Shakespeare (Adana State Theater, Turkey), "The Ugly" by Marius von Mayenburg (Saratov State Academic Theater "IA Slonov", Saratov, RF), "Homecoming" by Harold Pinter (Small City Theater Zad Kanala, Sofia) and many others.

At the National Theater he directed the performances "Verona" by Alexey Shipenko, "King Lear" by William Shakespeare, "The Goat, or Who is Sylvia" by Edward Albee, "Waving Hands in Spokane" by Martin McDonough, "Night Butterfly" by Pyotr Gladylin, "Hamlet" by William Shakespeare, "Jeanne" by Jaroslava Pulinovich, "The Observers (hypothesis of the afterlife)" and "Easter wine" by Konstantin Iliev.
